Staple through the plastic and into rafters. Use 3 8 inch heavy duty staples every six inches. Rafter vents should be placed in your attic ceiling in between the rafters at the point where your attic ceiling meets your attic floor. Start in a corner away from the attic hatch and fit the roll insulation between the joists facing against the drywall.

Overlap the sheets by 8 to 10 inches. 2 snap a chalk line between the length measurements. Fill every joist space completely and evenly with the insulation leaving attic vents uncovered. If you have a solid floor covering the roof rafters use the claw end of a hammer to pull the floor up in several locations and blow the insulation under the boards.
