This is the thing that connects the gutter and downspout together so it is important that it is placed correctly and securely.
How to make gutter holes.
Attach the guttering to the chosen spot.
Step 2 drill four holes.
Inspect rain gutters annually for cracks holes loose or missing screws and.
Make sure the patch is large enough to overlap the hole by at least 1 in 2 5 cm on all sides.
On the bottom of the gutter itself take a pencil or marker and trace the outline of a sleeve.
Use the mallet to pound out the dents and wrinkles photo 3 then use the ruler and marker to draw a line 1 inch 25 mm from the left edge.
Screw the guttering lengths to the fence or wall.
If the patch isn t already small enough to lay flat against the inside of the gutter and over the hole cut it down to size with your metal snips.
Trim the patch so it s 1 in 2 5 cm larger than the hole.
Drill holes through the guttering and align these with the fence or wall and drill holes in the exact same positions.
Tie a knot at one end of the 10 foot rope.
Repeat threading up through the bottom hole and out through the side hole on the next two left gutter sections.
From this line measure 2 inches 51 mm and draw a second line parallel to the first.
These two lines are fold lines as seen in photo 4.
Thread the unknotted end of the rope through one of the holes in the bottom of the left gutter section and then out the hole in the side.
Use tin snips to cut out the rectangle.
