Now i have two gorgeous farmhouse window awnings and of course i have a full tutorial to share with you guys.
How to make your own french awning.
Step 2 cut two pieces of 1 inch pvc pipe to the length determined in step 1 with a pair of pvc cutters.
The first step is to measure the width of your cabinet space to determine the width of your awning.
Create a 2 dimensional square frame and attach an equally sized square frame to it so they share a middle spine.
Use this guide to basic wood and metal window awnings and create your own one of a kind window dressing that takes the yawning out of awning.
Purchase 1 inch wide by 6 inches long 2 54 cm wide by 15 24 cm long boards to create the awning frame.
Plan to use a standard awning width of between 24 and 36 inches.
Dry fit the frame and slide the canvas over the top.
Adjust the fittings to make sure the canvas is taut.
Once you get all of those measurements add a 1 2 inch all the way around for seam allowance plus extra for a rod pocket at the top.
Then you want to decide how long you want the awning to be.
I ll build this over my french doors.
Make a few pencil marks remove the canvas and prime and cement the frame.
Measure the length of the window or door where you want to install an awning.
When dry few minutes slide the canvas back over the frame.
Make 2 identical 2 dimensional right triangle frames attached to the ends of your square frame.
