It would either take the paint all the way off or dull down the paint.
First test a safe area for compatibility before possibly damaging a visible area of the siding.
To remove duct tape residue try using the edge of a credit card.
During a window restoration project i used duck tape to hold plastic sheeting to the aluminum siding to protect the bare wood of the windows during painting.
It will soften the adhesive and allow for easier removal.
Hold the edge parallel to the surface you are working on and slowly scrape up the tape residue with it.
